The Vanilla Ice Project: Seaside Mansion Makeover
On this season of Vanilla Ice Project, Rob Van Winkle (aka Vanilla Ice) and his team of ninjas have a huge project on their hands. After sorting through a number of potential properties, Rob lands on a seaside home that's filled with both potential and major problems. See how he and his team conquered the challenge!

Oceanfront Property
Rob and his crew are back at it and ready to take on a whole new project. This time, they've landed on a massive property by the sea. The only problem: It's got a whole mess of necessary renovations. Time for a total overhaul!
Ready for a Challenge
Rob Van Winkle, aka Vanilla Ice, is ready to take on his next big project.
Exterior, Before
Before, this seaside home wasn't exactly a luxurious beachfront abode.
Exterior, After
But after a lot of vision and some major reconstruction, Rob transformed this dilapidated property into a modern mansion. This side of the house features a spiral staircase that leads to the master bedroom.
Great Room, Before
Before Rob and the ninjas stepped in, this seating area on the main floor wasn't a place anyone would want to hang. With an outdated pleather couch and electric blue rug as focal points, this space was in desperate need of an overhaul.
Great Room, After
Rob and the team swapped the loud blue rug for a softer, stylish option. They also added an array of chic yet understated seating options and accessories.
Dining Room, Before
This dining room was pretty sad, to say the least. The room's only furniture was a small table surrounded by chairs that belonged in a conference room, rather than a pleasant place to dine.
Dining Room, After
After, Rob totally transformed the downstairs space, creating a cohesive open layout between the dining, living and kitchen areas. And he didn't just stop at beautifying the dining room -- this table is also equipped with a hibachi grill. Plus, the grill features fiber-optic lights that change color with the push of a button. Talk about dining in style!
Kitchen, After
This spacious new kitchen looks equally gorgeous thanks to bright white cabinets and gleaming new appliances.
Vanilla Jackhammer
Rob certainly isn't afraid to get his hands dirty during renos. Here, the host jackhammers up some concrete during demolition.
2nd Floor Living Room, Before
This massive home didn't just come with one living room, but two! But this secondary living space was just as drab as its downstairs counterpart.
2nd Floor Kitchen, Before
And the second floor kitchen wasn't much better, due to outdated appliances and cabinetry.
Rob on the Job
Luckily, Rob wasn't having any of it—time to give this second floor living space a new identity.
2nd Floor Living Area, After
When Rob gets to renovating, he pulls out all the stops. This massive home is now equipped with an elevator, for more luxurious access to the second floor. And after knocking down some walls, along with installing a whole slew of glass doors, this space became instantly open and airy. Plus, Rob opted for nautical neutrals and blues in the decor, to really pump up the breezy coastal vibe.
2nd Floor Kitchen, After
On the other side of the living space, the new kitchen is also completely unrecognizable. In addition to ample cabinets, this large island provides a lot of storage space.
Hang Time
Who says renovations can't be fun? After the demo, Rob had a blast swinging from the second floor rafters.
Master Bedroom, Before
Before, the master bedroom's most prominent piece of decor was a sad tree shoved in the corner.
Master Bedroom, After
In the master bedroom, Rob swapped sterile walls for floor-to-ceiling glass doors that lead to an outdoor deck and feature a view of the ocean.
Master Bedroom, After
Brand new decor breathed new life into this room. The bright blue rug, stool and throw pillows, along with a whimsical hanging light fixture are exactly the details this room needed to become a seaside retreat.
Master Bathroom, Before
Before, this master bathroom was seriously drab and outdated.
Master Bathroom, After
After, it was transformed into a luxurious space equipped with granite countertops and custom vanity mirrors.
2nd Floor Bedroom
On the second floor, Rob created yet another gorgeous bedroom with a natural jute rug and lively blue bedspread. Plus, it includes a beautiful round porthole style window, a subtle nod to the nautical theme of the home.
Deck, Before
Before, this spacious wood deck had plenty of potential, but needed some major help.
All Hands on Deck
Rob and the ninjas gave this weathered deck a major facelift, including adding wood accents to the ceiling, made even more beautiful with a warm stain.
Pool, Before
Before, this pool looked more like a sewer than a place to go for a refreshing dip.
Pool Potential
Rob and his team completely gutted the old pool to make way for one that's completely new and improved. He opted to move the location and change the shape, to create a poolside paradise that's both beautiful and inviting.
2nd Floor Walkways and Deck, After
Rob built a custom deck and walkway that wraps around the house, with a staircase that leads down to the gorgeous new pool.
Brand New Garage
Rob didn't stop at creating a fantastic new home, he also built a five-car garage on this seaside property. The custom impact glass doors are even rated for hurricanes.
Multifunctional Garage
Inside the garage, Rob included ample storage for tools. He also created a unique entertainment center, for a homeowner who wants a fun place to escape.
Play Area, Spaceship Style
But Rob and his ninjas didn't stop at an entertainment center in the garage. They also built an incredible clubhouse in the backyard! Inspired by a trip to the Kennedy Space Center, Rob crafted the idea for this spaceship-themed play area. Now that's a design that's out of this world.
