Season 1, Episode 3

The Lucky Leprechaun

Jason Cameron brings his Sledgehammer to help young homeowners with an old kitchen and interesting basement. The 1964 kitchen features outdated appliances in a color that is best described as river brown, and the basement features a leprechaun mural that needs to come down, a drop ceiling and a bar on its last legs. Jason Cameron shows up with a stop watch, a sledgehammer and a deal for the homeowners: smash all that you can in 30 minutes and Jason fixes it up, but if you fail, Jason leaves. Jason starts the clock and the homeowners race to smash the basement, but in the smashing they find money hidden in the walls. The weird leprechaun is lucky after all and gets saved. After the basement, the homeowners tackle the kitchen. They squeak by and demo two rooms in 30 minutes. That means Jason has two huge projects to tackle. He replaces the drop ceiling with a dry wall ceiling adding height to the basement. The carpet is replaced with tiles. The old bar is replaced with a custom bar and shelving. Plus, Molly and Simon get a special nook in the basement for their daughter Emmy Lou to play in. The basement is finished off with a huge sectional sofa and the leprechaun neatly framed. Upstairs in the kitchen, it's a dark hardwood floor and beautiful gray cabinets. Jason brings in new granite countertops and builds an island on wheels to save space in the small kitchen.
