Season 6, Episode 2

Open Kitchen

While their kitchen was originally designed as a place for servants to work and eat, Wes and Carre renovate it for more functional modern-day use. They begin work on their claustrophobic kitchen by removing tiles that run from the floor to the ceiling and knocking down a wall to create an open floor plan. Wes then forges an art deco light fixture while Carre repurposes cabinetry from other parts of the house. Finally, the couple finds a creative solution to remove the old floral wallpaper and restores a 1920s dumbwaiter.
