After three years of building a happy family in the small town of Elkton, Md., Meg and Jacob Rubinstein decide it's time to renovate their entire 1950s home. First on the project list is to demo the bug-infested laundry room. Follow their mishaps as they are attacked by termites, flooded by torrential rains and almost destroy their wonderful home.
Meg and Jacob take on the next project in their renovation, extending their breezeway and replacing the exterior siding with stucco. From frustration, to exhaustion, to rabid bats, this couple is in for more than a few surprises.
Frustrated with having only one bathroom, Meg and Jacob decide to build a brand new bathroom in their basement to accommodate their growing family. But before they do that, they need to pry up asbestos tiles, fix a water-damaged basement, install new plumbing and call some friends over to help with their huge project.
Meg and Jacob embark on their final room renovation, and they saved the biggest job for last - their kitchen. They will demo their old 1950s kitchen while battling five layers of flooring, exploding pipes and a serious case of the stomach flu. It's a race against time to get the base cabinets set before the granite team arrives. Will they be able to finish their dream kitchen and the final piece of their home renovation?
The drama and excitement continues as Meg and Jacob race to the finish their kitchen so their family of four can eat dinner at home once again. But with two young children underfoot, an old house full of new surprises and a few hundred pounds of granite coming their way in a couple of days, will they complete the kitchen of their dreams, or will the renovation turn into a nightmare?
