Jim Belushi buys an old Elk's Lodge property along the Rogue River outside Medford, Oregon. Intended to be a getaway for the guys called the 'Rogue's Lair", his wife, Jenny, wants nothing to do with the project, at first! Right out of the gate, snags hold up construction. Flood plain restrictions and county code requirements force changes to the design, slowing things up and adding more to the cost.
With timbers up and in place, construction is well under way on the Rogue's Lair. Now that wife Jenny is charmed by the location, she's fully engaged in the decision-making to help Jim create a rustic, cozy, simple getaway the entire family can enjoy.
Now that Jim Belushi has agreed to put in a bathtub for wife, Jenny, the two of them focus on the master bedroom suite. They also make a huge decision to add a bunkhouse to the mix, throwing in another challenge for all involved.
Jim Belushi turns his attention to making some crucial design decisions. With the help of Ashley and Matt, they pick out lighting, make a decision on how to cover up the foundation and make choices on the living room. They also discuss Jim's need for a manly urinal in his main house.
Once permitting issues are resolved, Jim Belushi's crew can start pouring the foundation and begin framing the new bunkhouse. But they quickly run out of roofing and siding - both for the bunkhouse and the main house as well!
As work winds down, summer arrives on the Rogue River. Jim turns his attention to the kitchen and the deck, since that's where all the entertaining will take place. Finally, Jim celebrates his new home, a year in the making, with a party for the entire crew and community!
