Pumpkin Challenge: Quick-and-Easy Thumbtack Pumpkin

Try this easy, carve-free pumpkin decorating idea for a glam look this Halloween.

Carving pumpkins is a great Halloween pastime, but it can get real messy. If you prefer a cleaner approach like me, carve-free, craft pumpkins are the way to go. I wanted to keep it spooky, so I chose to decorate my pumpkin with a spiderweb pattern using thumbtacks.

The metallic thumbtacks bring a glam look to any decor, and I was able to do this project in less than 30 minutes from start to finish. I started by drawing out my pattern (or print an online template in your desired pattern) with a pen, then I simply inserted the thumbtacks over the pen marks. The best part? You don't have to be an artist to do this — the spiderweb pattern looks great even with imperfections.
