Instant Art: Printable Kids' Room Artwork
Bring fun and whimsy to your child's room with these printable, color-yourself images.

These adorable printable pages are perfect for kids’ room decor. The hand drawn animals are paired up with fun text to keep the artwork light and fun. The examples were colored with watercolor pencils, but simple colored pencils would work just as well.

To keep the colors consistent for a themed look, I used the same 6 colors on each picture; beige, orange, red, yellow, brown and black.
You will need:
- Choose one (or all) of these animal templates:
- fox template
- bunny template
- deer template
- owl template
- printer and paper (watercolor paper optional)
- colored pencils
- small paint brush and water (optional)
- paper towels
- 11”x14” mattes for each picture with an 8”x10” opening
- masking tape
- 11”x14” frames
Begin by printing the templates. Choose colors that can be used for all of the images for a consistent look. Add depth to the images by layering the colors.
If you are using watercolor pencils, use a slightly dampened brush to blend the colors together and fill large fields of solid colors. Dip the brush in water and then dab it on paper towels. Allow the picture to dry completely before mounting.

Tape the images face down and centered to the back of the matte. Use masking tape and pull the corners taut. Apply another small piece of masking tape in the middle of each of the side edges. Place the matte in a clean frame and replace the back. Hang in a group for higher impact.
