Draw Arc
Lay down the rocker wall pieces, aligning them on their centers (Image 1). Using the screw and string method, tie the string at a 23” length and draw the arc with a pencil to create the rocking surface. Customize the arc with a French curve to create a safety stop (Image 2).

Cut Arc
Cut along the pencil lines using a jigsaw or band saw.

Prep Vertical Supports
Cut a 1-3/4 radius curve on one end of each vertical 2x4 board. Drill a 1-1/4” through-hole in each board using a Forstner bit.

Assemble Sides
Glue rocker wall board pieces using construction adhesive, aligning the cut, curved edges. Then, attach the vertical supports and horizontal deck supports using lag bolts (Image 1). The vertical supports should extend 13” above the top edge of the rocker wall. Paint, stain and seal as desired before final assembly (Image 2).

Attach Seat Supports
Attach seat supports flush with the top and ends of one of the rocker walls using construction adhesive and lag bolts.

Attach Handles
Press handles into the holes on the vertical supports (Image 1). Attach the second rocker wall to the seat supports with construction adhesive (Image 2). If necessary, use a rubber mallet to align the handles flush to the vertical supports (Image 3). Secure handles with countersink screws (Image 4), and secure the second rocker wall with lag bolts. .

Attach Seats
Drill six evenly-spaced pocket holes into each deck support using a pocket-hole jig (Image 1). Drill four pocket holes into each seat support (Image 2). Next, drill two pocket holes in the rocker walls under each end of the seat boards (Images 3 and 4). Attach the seats and decking with 1-1/2” pocket screws.
