First Cloud
Draw a cloud onto a felt piece. I found they look nicer when they’re somewhat horizontal in shape. Cut out the cloud shape and then lay it onto another piece of felt to trace the exact shape again, and cut out the second shape. These two matching pieces together will make one cloud.

Sew and Stuff Clouds
With the needle and thread, carefully hand sew the shapes together along the edges. Leave about a quarter of the cloud’s edge open. Through this opening, fill the cloud with stuffing until the cloud looks fluffy. When the cloud is full, sew the opening shut. Repeat these steps until you have the number of clouds you want in all of the colors that you want.
Step 3

Fringe Felt for Hoop
The embroidery hoop is rather plain, so gray felt was used to embellished it. Cut a strip of felt about 2" wide by the length of the mobile. Then trim about an 1-1/2" to create a decorative fringe.

Light It Up
To bring a celestial touch to the mobile, use small LED multi-string kit to act as stars. To attach the lights, start about a foot from the top of the strings, and begin to wind the lights around the hoop to hold it into place .From there, continue to wind the remaining strings around the hoop, often checking to see that they hit the hoop at the same length so they hang straight. I spaced them out so that they’d go around the hoop evenly.
Step 5

Thread Light Strands Through Clouds
Slide one of the light strands through the top of a cloud and snake it right through the bottom of the cloud. Push the cloud up the string of lights and position it where you want. Do this with each of the clouds, and it’s okay to do more than one on each strand to add a little interest. Once all your clouds are on, twist the string of lights gently around your finger in a circular motion to make them spiral. This will help hold the clouds in place too.

Hang From the Ceiling
To make the mobile to seem as if it was floating above the crib, use clear wire and a small hook to secure it to the ceiling.

Baby Will Love It
With this DIY project, you can customize a mobile in any colors so the mobile will be as unique and special as your baby. There is no sweeter way for your baby to peacefully fall asleep than under the glow of tranquil clouds and stars.
