A beautiful new breakfast bar stands where the homeowners' old solarium wall stood before they took a sledgehammer to it. The renovated kitchen is fresh and modern.

Homeowners Brad and Jess Groene's spare room was nothing to talk about before the sledgehammer got to it.
During: Busting Walls
Homeowner Brad took over the sledgehammer to smash in the walls.

The drab room is transformed into a girly pink bedroom with a bunk bed for the homeowners' two daughters.

The unused attic space will soon be transformed by Sledgehammer host Jason Cameron.
During: Install Flooring
Host Jason Cameron and homeowner Brad Groene put down flooring in the attic. They remove old insulation, put adhesive on attic joists, install tongue and groove plywood flooring and use nail guns to secure plywood into place.
After: Peaceful Playroom
A bedroom and play area is created from the unfinished attic space.
Before: Too Formal Dining Room
The dining room was too formal for the Faison family and it was closed off from the kitchen before the sledgehammer.
After: Functional Space
The homeowners' formal dining room is transformed into a modern and spacious kitchen with new appliances and seating at the island.
Before: Single Bathroom for Six
The only sink in the single bathroom that was shared by the entire Shinkle family of six.
After: Kids Bathroom
Host Jason Cameron turned part of the single bathroom into a kids' space complete with a trough sink, a deep tub and mom's favorite, a laundry chute.
After: Master Bath
The rest of the space is turned into a private bathroom for mom and dad
Before: Dull Dining
The dining space was enclosed by cabinets and a bulky island and lacked style and space around the table for a growing family.
After: Refreshed Space
The dining area now features a modern style and extra room around the table thanks to a leaf made for the old family table.
