- hot glue gun and sticks
- fine-tipped black marker
- (1) cardboard egg carton
- (1) personalized tea bag
- (1) thumbtack
- (1) white pipe cleaner
- (1) 8.5" x 11" sheet of kraft paper card stock
- (1) sheet of white card stock
- (1) sheet of patterned scrapbook paper
Feel free to create your own color palette for this craft, choosing scrapbook paper that coordinates with the color of your egg carton. A store-bought tea bag works perfectly fine if you don’t have time to make our personalized tea bag.
Create a Teacup
First, cut one egg holder from a corner of your carton to create a teacup. Three sides of the teacup should remain intact and rounded, while the backside should be relatively flat. Next, create two holes on one side of your teacup using a thumbtack. Then, cut a 2.5-inch piece of pipe cleaner. Round your pipe cleaner, and insert each end into a hole to create a handle for your teacup.
Create a Card Base
Fold the sheet of kraft paper card stock in half hamburger-style to create a card. Then, cut out a 7" x 4" rectangle from the patterned scrapbook paper. Glue the scrapbook paper to the center of the front of the card using a glue stick.
Attach Teacup + Tea
Decide where you’d like to glue your teacup, and use a pencil to mark it. Then, use a hot glue gun to attach the flat side of the teacup to the front of your card. Place your tea bag in the teacup.
Add a Cute Message
Cut out a 3" x 2" rectangle from the white card stock using scalloped craft scissors. Use a fine-tipped black marker to write a sweet message to Mom. Glue the rectangle to the card using a glue stick.
Write Mom a meaningful note on the inside of the card.
