Using silk flowers and floral wire from the craft store, it’s easy to weave sprigs of holiday greenery together in a flash. Whether you’re a seasoned floral designer or simply an enthusiastic gift-giver, these garlands are sure to add a dose of holiday cheer to your presents.
Cut sprigs of greenery off the larger store-bought bunch. Take two sprigs of greenery and weave together with florist wire. There’s no method to this technique — just wrap until the sprigs feel secure. Continue adding lengths of faux greenery until the garland spans the top and sides of your gift box. Once the greenery sprigs are the correct length, cut the florist wire and tie off the end.
Fill in the greenery garland by trimming sprigs of faux red floral, and weaving them into the garland. Secure with florist wire and continue down the length of the garland. Repeat with any additional pops of floral color that you’d like to incorporate into your design.
Once you have finished filling in your garland, tightly attach lengths of green florist wire to each end of your garland, making sure that the ends are long enough to wrap once around your gift box. Knot ends at the bottom of the box and trim away excess wire before setting it under the tree.
