Introduction

Is your little one not quite ready to trick-or-treat on Halloween night, walking the long distances up and down the block? Turn a wagon into a portable costume.
Step 1

Cut the Cardboard Body
Cut two identical pieces of rectangle cardboard, the same length as the side of your wagon by your desired height.
Step 2

Cut the Portholes
Cut two identical pieces of rectangle cardboard, the same length as the side of your wagon by your desired height.
Step 3

Cut and Attach Back Piece
Cut a smaller piece of cardboard 8" by the width of your wagon. Use hot glue to connect the two larger cardboard rocket rectangles together at the back end, with the smaller rectangle in the middle. Measure how long this connected piece is (the entire rocket ship back).
Step 4

Make the Nose
Cut a half circle for the rocket's nose cone. The outer arc of the half circle will be the length of the measurement in the previous step.
Step 5

Create the Fins
Draw and cut three rocket ship fins.
Step 6

Add Color
Spray paint the main part of the rocket ship white. Paint the fins and the nose cone your desired color. Make sure to paint both sides of the fins. Allow the pieces to dry completely.
Step 7

Fit the Body on Wagon
Slip the main rocket body tube over the wagon. Use packing tape to secure the bottom sides of the four corners of your wagon.
Step 8

Glue the Nose
Apply a line of hot glue around the outer edge of the backside of the nose cone and slip it over the front of the rocket, curving the half circle over the top front of the rocket. Press it down firmly for a few minutes allowing it to set.
Step 9

Cut Slit for Nose and Wagon Handle
Cut a slit in the bottom of the nose cone to allow for the wagon handle pull to be maneuvered easily. Cut away excess nose cone as needed.
Step 10

Make Slits for Fins
On the back of the rocket, cut a few 7" slits in the cardboard where you want your fins to go.
Step 11

Place and Glue Fins
Slip fins inside of the slits and hot glue in place. Hold them down for a few minutes to allow the glue to set.
Step 12

Use Ribbons for Flames
Make jet-fuel flames for the back of your rockets by cutting strips of red ribbon. Glue or tape the top of the ribbon to the back of the rocket. The flames look really awesome when the wind is blowing.
Step 13

Ready for Take Off!
And you are finished. Add a few small astronauts and go.
