Introduction

This classic rug took little time and money to make. A 2' x 3' rug requires 100 feet of rope, which cost about $10, plus about $5 for the no-slip rug mat.
Step 1

Lay Out Materials
Uncoil the rope. Cut off any loose threads on the end of the rope.
Step 2

Glue Centerpoint
Place the end of the rope in the middle of the non-stick rug pad and apply hot glue to adhere it in place. Hold it down for a minute to secure it while the glue dries. Make sure you are working on top of a poster board or cardboard because the hot glue will drip through the rug pad.
Step 3

Coil Rope and Glue to Mat
Coil the rope around and apply hot glue underneath the rope to hold it in place. For the first few coils, you will need to hold the rope securely in place, pinching it together to keep it nice and tight as the glue dries. After a few times around, the rope should stay in place. Continue coiling and gluing the rope until you reach the end.
Step 4

Trim Rug Pad
Cut away any excess rug pad from around the corners of the rug.
Step 5

Peel Off Poster Board
Flip the rug over so that the poster board is facing up. Tear away excess stuck-on poster board or paper so that the non-stick rug pad is mostly showing.
