Based on the overall size of the wall or area for which the banner will be suspended, first decide the proper size for the banner. A good standard to stick with is a banner height of 10 inches and width of 8 inches.
Referring to the marks made with permanent marker, cut the vinyl bunting to size with craft blade or upholstery scissors.
Choose a classic font online, and then print necessary letters for name or message on card stock. Cut the font letter into a stencil.
Attach letter detail to bunting using fabric glue. Allow one hour for glue to dry before moving on to the next step.
Unfurl ribbon on a flat, level surface, and then lay out each section of bunting separated with a one-inch gap. Fold ribbon in half along the top of each section of bunting. Then add a bead of fabric glue between the ribbon and each side of the bunting to keep it firmly held in place.
Steampunk style is known for infusing classic Victorian aesthetic with turn-of-the-century industrial touches. To add a bit of industrial flair to each section of bunting, add riveted detail by creating a hole with craft blade directly through section of ribbon above each one-inch gap.
Next, insert the brass fasteners through the front of each hole and secure along the back of the ribbon. Lastly, tie approximately 18 inches of contrasting silk or satin ribbon along each end of the banner.
