How to Make Halloween Popcorn Balls With Personality

Halloween is one time of year when you can play with your food. Start by giving plain popcorn balls their very own custom costume.

The best part about these popcorn-ball people is how easy they are to make. Start with readymade popcorn balls from the store and all that is left to do is dress them. Speaking of decorating this is a great project to have the kids help with.

Remove the popcorn balls from their original packaging and wrap them in clear cling wrap. Make sure to seal tightly so the popcorn stays fresh.

Insert sticks into the base of the popcorn balls through the cling wrap.

Roll black paper into a cone shape to make small party hats for the popcorn balls. Tape it into shape. Then add pompoms, washi tape or stickers for decoration.

Collect accessories to decorate popcorn people. Faux mustaches, glasses and googley eyes are perfect. Many of these are already adhesive backed. However, if they don't, use craft glue or double-sided tape to adhere the rest
(Do not use hot glue, it will melt the cling wrap.)

Decorate the popcorn balls to be as intricate as you like.  These are great for other types of parties as well, not just Halloween. Elf hats perhaps?

Display popcorn in a festive cup or bowl to keep them upright. There are also ready-made displays for party food on sticks available at most stores. Never serve plain popcorn at your party again.
