To create a pattern onto the glass you'll need a stencil. You can make your own with painter's tape or craft foam or adhesive stencils. You can even freehand designs onto the glass using etching cream and a paintbrush.

In order to do stripes, apply painter's or electrical tape to clean glasses. Washi tape is not recommended as you need the edges to adhere well so the cream does not bleed.
Apply glass etching cream according to the manufacturer's instructions. The longer the cream is left on the glass, the more etching will occur.

Rinse off the cream under running water with the stencils still in place. When all of the cream has been washed away, remove tape or stencil and discard.

Wash the glasses as usual and get ready to mix up your favorite poolside cocktail in style.
