Tools and Materials
- (4) 2 oz packages of white oven bake modeling clay
- variety of multicolor oven bake modeling clay
- razor blade or utility knife
- 3" or 4" circular cookie cutter
- smooth non-stick surface or sheet of wax paper
- craft rolling pin
- cork or plastic adhesive bumpers
Prep Clay

Roll out white modeling clay to approximately 3/4" to 1/2" thickness and a little over 4" in diameter. Use a utility knife to chip off small chunks of colored clay in varying shapes and sizes.
Create a Terrazzo Pattern

Lay multicolored clay chips on top of the flattened white clay in a random pattern. Roll the multicolored pieces into the white base until they're fully embedded and the top is smooth. Keep thickness to at least 1/4".
Stamp Out Coasters

Carefully press a circular cookie cutter into your clay sheet and then remove individual circles.
Bake and Display

Bake the coasters on a cookie sheet to the specifications listed on your clay's packaging. Allow to cool completely, then attach cork or plastic bumpers on the bottom side of each coaster to avoid any surface scratching. These fun, colorful coasters are an inexpensive, DIY way to incorporate a high-end trend into your decor on a budget. They also make great gifts!
