Kids' Bedroom Pictures From Blog Cabin 2008

The focal piece of the second upstairs bedroom, themed to appeal to kids, is a cleverly designed trundle bed in the shape of a wooden boat. The boat was conceived and created by Jimmy Diresta, co-host of DIY's Hammered.

A low shelving and drawer unit, custom made to fit the window nook, was designed and built by Blog Cabin experts Chris and Simon Hodshon.

The kids' room became the one place where the lakeside cabin's nautical theme was most liberally put to use. Scale-model sail boats dress up the room as decorative accents.

The bed's linens continue the sailboat motif.

Period-look hurricane lamps fit the rustic and nautical themes at play in the cabin and go particularly well in the kids' bedroom.

With the notable exception of Jimmy DiResta's custom-made bed, other furnishings in the kids room were selected by interior design specialist Amanda Teeter.
