Melinda Barta, the author of Hip to Stitch, shows viewers (and her friends Rose Wallick and Laurel Kluber) how to make an Embroidered Escape Map for any location. First she demonstrates how to make a pattern from a map; then she shows how to stitch mountains, trails and roads. Next she makes the rivers and map key and demonstrates how to mount the map in a photo album; and finally, viewers see the embroidered maps Rose and Laurel have been working on, and Melinda shares others she's made, including one embroidered directly onto paper.
