About the show

What if you gave a couple of landscape professionals 48 hours to completely redo a backyard? No problem, right? But there's a catch. What if they don't even get to see the yard until the day before the job, and were not allowed to meet the homeowner? On DIY Network's Yardcore, landscape professionals Jake and Joel Moss are ready to set homeowners up with the yard of a lifetime, and take on all the challenges of making it happen. They will only get a quick tour of the yard and a five-minute tour of the home's interior to get clues, and then make it all happen in 48 hours — without ever meeting the homeowner until the final reveal! For one lucky homeowner willing to take a chance, this could be like winning the landscape lottery. Yardcore is a landscaping series that makes the impossible possible!

Craft Craftsman Courtyard

By taking the classic craftsman feel from inside the house and bringing it into the yard, Jake and Joel turn this tiny, rundown yard into an expansive and relaxing space for the whole family. Anchored in the center of the yard by a rustic water feature made from railroad ties, the yard features a custom bar faced with period specific wainscoting, a deck made from composite materials and one of a kind privacy wall inspired by the homeowners wedding picture.

Rubicon Trail

Jake and Joel Moss take a backyard that's loaded with mounds and mounds of trash and turn it into a High Sierra hilltop perfect for a jeeping adventure seeker. The brothers take inspiration from the Rubicon Trail, a well known passage used by off-road vehicle enthusiasts in California's High Sierras. They build a luxury campsite complete with an historic logging flume waterfall that spills into a serene pond, bring in huge mountain top boulders, fashion a firepit out of moss rocks that doubles as a barbeque, and forge a trailway big enough for a jeepster to park his rig on to enjoy the peace and quiet of the regal yet rustic space.

Trailer Chic

Jake and Joel Moss create a classic American Backyard for a 50's obsessed couple with a love for Vintage campers. Taking their cues from the homowners fleet of restored vehicles including a souped up hot rod, they create a one of a kind out door area including a bar faced with road signs and a hanging glass rack fashioned from a classic car bumper. The ranch style landscaping is anchored by a new lawn and finished off with time honored split rail fencing. A refurbished deck leads to an outdoor camping area complete with a firepit and space to park their fully restored cherry red travel trailer.

Trippy Tudor

Jake and Joel Moss create a story book backyard for a newlywed couple who have a penchant for fantasy and adventure. The guys stay true to the Tudor style of the home by building a dining area that houses a beefy reclaimed wood table underneath an open pergola. An impressive oversized arbor off the new composite deck houses a moss-encircled flagstone pathway that leads wanderers around a beautifully landscaped two-tiered pond which is home to a water spewing dragon.

Courtyard Kitchen

In a small, lifeless yard surrounded by cinderblocks walls, Jake and Joel aim for the sky with a design that blends art and food. A striking pergola structure covers the butcherblock cooking center which is surrounded by three original paintings. An oversized machine coil gives a rustic accent to a bistro table, while metal pipe inserts provide an industrical pop to new bench seating throughout the yard.
