Jake and Joel Moss turn a blank slate yard into an artsy pub inspired by the homeowners' love for beer and giraffe art. The existing garden is expanded and terraced up the slope, and a concrete patio creates entertaining space with colorful groundcover softening the look. Privacy walls bring in shade and a modern wood slat backdrop for the bar, which is dressed up with a metal giraffe art panel. Along the back wall a large Japanese maple becomes a focal point flanked with wood benches and large giraffe-print mosaics made from bottle caps.

A yard that begins as nothing but dirt and damaged flagstone is completely transformed with an eco-friendly deck covered by a pergola wrapped in carved pilasters, a travertine firebox, rustic stenciled pews and a large sandblasted dining table illuminated by a blingy chandelier. Dog-friendly synthetic turf lends a pop of color to the scene, while the claw foot tub water feature set atop the repurposed pavers provides a perfect splash of serenity.

The Moss Brothers take on a mid century modern makeover in the style of the home's architecture. The yard is huge and the design is overly ambitious for a 2-day makeover. They'll build an oversized bamboo composite deck and then add large timber walls with shelves and a vertical slatted backdrop, a brick fire feature with a stainless steel hood, uber-long brick planters, and a bird lover's dream of a water feature complete with two sandhill cranes frolicking in the pond.

This outdoor oasis is centered around a Namaste retreat, complete with a Lotus shaped fire feature floating on a tranquil pool and surrounded by concrete yoga dome seating. Across the yard sits a retro lounge with a slatted wall for privacy, a roof terrace covered in artificial turf, and a new concrete block bar. To add to the period feel, the yard is finished off with vibrant plants and surrounded by red lava rock.

Because the tree is located within 50 feet of a flood plain they'll have to come up with a special design using only the tree as a support. The community rallies around the build and the treehouse is decked-out in some imagination-inspiring kid-friendly decorations, including some special hand-made tables for all the fun games they will play!
