Cheryl decides to handle a bathroom renovation on her own after searching for the right contractor proves harder than it looks. Her family and friends pitch in to help, but even the best intentions can't substitute real expertise. When the truth comes crashing through her ceiling, Cheryl puts a stop to her DIY reno and is left without a working shower for 5 months. Mike comes to her rescue but soon realizes that she needs a lot more than just a shower. Cheryl is Deaf but doesn't have a 'Sign Language' friendly home, which turns this standard bathroom reno into a breakthrough project for Mike and his team.

Gill and Julie installed a one-of-a-kind wheelchair lift for their daughter Maya, who has Cerebral Palsy, only to discover that the $17,500 prototype doesn't work. Despite all of the major renovations they have already invested in their home, Gill has no choice but to continue carrying Maya up and down the stairs, which is only getting harder. Mike arrives on site to help give Maya her independence, but the goal proves to be more than a challenge. The trouble starts with just getting the old lift out, and Mike is forced to rethink his approach, redesign the layout and revise his plan to make it right.

Homeowners Catherine and Cameron wanted to give their fifty-year-old home an update. They paid $100,000 out of pocket for what was supposed to be their dream renovation. But unfortunately, the contractor they hired didn't have the right skills to deliver the goods, and made a mess of their home in the process. He cut corners by not hiring a licensed electrician and did all of the electrical himself. He moved doors and compromised structure, and the sub trades he hired caused $10,000 in roof damages using $10 worth of staples! Completely disheveled, Catherine and Cameron turn to Mike for help, who gives them a Valentine they'll never forget.
