The Green Mansion Gets a Backyard Makeover

Dubbed by Vanilla Ice (aka Rob VanWinkle) as The Green Toad, every inch of this Palm Beach lakefront mansion was in rough shape -- and the backyard pool was no exception.

BEFORE: The Plain Jane Pool

Rob and his right-hand man, Wes, saw the potential in this Palm Beach mansion's backyard, despite the dark and dreary state of the pool.

BEFORE: The Plain Jane Pool

The outdated screen enclosure surrounding the pool obscured the home's incredible lakefront view from the back of the property.

BEFORE: The Plain Jane Pool

Formerly a "sad hole in the ground filled with green muck," Rob envisoned turning the backyard pool into a major entertaining space for the Palm Beach mansion.

AFTER: The Not-So-Plain Jane Pool

Rob's lakefront masterpiece includes travertine pavers surrounding the pool to convey a Key West sense of style.

AFTER: The Not-So-Plain Jane Pool

Travertine pavers and marble coping separate the new "blue lagoon" from the rest of the home's large lakefront property.

Rob and his crew installed infinity edges throughout and even extended a piece of it into the living room as a stunning feature in the home.

Champagne Spa

The new infinity hot tub in front of the master suite spills water over the edges to give the space a boost of serious luxury.

Blue Lagoon Tiles

The blue tiles Rob chose to surround the edges of the pool have a pearlescent look, providing some serious sparkle when the sun hits them just right.

Infinity Edge

To showcase the home's incredible lakefront view, Rob created an infinity edge that gives the illusion of the pool spilling into the lake.

In-Pool Dance Floor

A dance floor embedded in the water means not having to leave the pool when the music comes on.

Night Lights

Fiber optic lights in the beach shelf near the back of the home and electric blue lighting throughout give the pool a show-stopping glow after dark.

More Ice, Please
