Season 1, Episode 1

The Kitchen

William and Elizabeth Shatner have always wanted a large, spacious and beautiful kitchen that is more conducive to entertaining their friends and large family. That dream will finally be fulfilled when they take down the walls that separate their dated and dark kitchen from their dining room and River Room. The whole kitchen will be taken down to the studs and rebuilt from the ground up with custom cabinets, lighting, tile, countertops and appliances ? oh the appliances! There's even an area for their 3 beloved Dobermans complete with a doggy-dedicated dishwasher, oven and sink! It's a stunning transformation with all the fancy bells and whistles you'd expect in Captain Kirk's kitchen.

After: Shatner's Open Kitchen

The walls separating the kitchen from the dining room, left, and the living room, right. were opened to create a batter flow and more modern feel. The kitchen was entirely renovated, with a large, single island replacing the two outdated islands, with custom lights created by project designer Jinnie Choi, news cabinets, GE appliances, and two custom kennels and a prep area dedicated to the Shatners' beloved dogs as seen on DIY Network’s The Shatner Project.

New, Open Living Space

The dining room features updated furniture, and the wall separating it from the renovated kitchen is now open, creating a better flow and a more modern feel. A round table with light chairs and updated lighting give the room a fresh look. By knocking out one wall and adding a small bar instead of the buffet table, the entire home feels more open as seen on DIY Network’s The Shatner Project.

Hardwood Floors Mirror Ceiling

In the back living room, the floor is now a dark hardwood that runs through both living rooms, the powder room, dining room and enclosed porch, and custom lights created by project designer Jinnie Choi hang from the ceiling. The water feature boasts new, low water plants. Hardwood floors mimic the ceiling design and make the greenery around the room really pop. A neutral, patterned area rug is a cozy touch that pulls the room together as seen on DIY Network’s The Shatner Project.
