Smashing Walls to Build an Up-to-date Kitchen and Workspace for Two Flavor Techs
Jason Cameron helps Drew and Megan Scholle build a new kitchen. The Scholles are flavor techs. They are involved in creating flavors for yogurts, vodkas and more, but for their high tech jobs, they're stuck with a low tech kitchen with an oven that's too small for a cookie sheet and no storage for their cooking supplies. Jason Cameron shows up with an incredible deal: smash all the rooms you want in 30 minutes and he will fix them, but if you fail, he fixes nothing. The Scholles jump at the chance and start smashing their dining room and solarium walls along with everything in their kitchen. They finish before time is up and Jason gets to work rebuilding everything. The project starts with marble tiles for the floor to add light to the open space. Jason shares tricks for hanging new cabinets and for setting tile on the wall. Plus, Jason builds a custom butcher block island for Megan to make her pastries. He shows them how to get the job done and how to properly care for the island. The end result is a kitchen the Scholles can use and show off to family and friends.
Don't let that smile fool you. Jason Cameron is ready to smash everything from eggs and peanut butter to walls and attics in this photo gallery. Tune in to the all-new show Sledgehammer every Wednesday 10/9c to see his demolitions and renovations.
