Run My Renovation: A Basement Bar and Billiards Room Designed by You

We asked DIY Network fans to vote on how we should renovate this dingy basement. Take a look at the stunning results.

Nothing says 1970s like wood paneling, funky carpeting and orange curtains. The homeowners agreed to let us completely renovate their basement -- but we let you decide how we were going to do it. You voted on the new flooring, wall treatments, ceiling and more. Browse through the slides to see what you picked.

Cut the Cards

The outdated space was transformed into a hip Vegas game room with card table, bar and kegerator. A piece of the old carpet was saved and hung on the wall behind the bar shelves. It looks great next to the gold wall color you voted for.

Rack 'em Up

The room's crown jewel is the traditional-style pool table that you choose for the homeowners. For the table's felt color, you selected the Sahara over ebony or dark green. To illuminate the table, the winning vote was cast for a brushed-nickel, triple-light fixture.

For the walls, the paneled wainscoting won the vote over the usually popular beadboard wainscoting. You choose a square design for the ceiling tiles which matches great with the square wainscoting. For the floor, the gray carpet tiles you picked are laid with square insets underneath the pool table and card table.
