Meet Ben and Ginger

That’s Ginger on the left, Ben on the right. They’ve been married for about three years, they are both on-air, TV news personalities, and they’re ready to hightail it out of New York City to the burbs.

Why?

This little guy, Adrian, is a year-and-a-half old, and the family of three is in desperate need of more space than their current digs allow.

Ben and Ginger’s NYC Apartment

While convenient for their jobs, Ben and Ginger’s Manhattan apartment is tight on space and storage and quickly builds up clutter.

Storage Solutions

Where do you put all of your cookware when you’re severely limited on kitchen cabinet space? In an old dresser, of course!

Sleeping Nook

Ben and Ginger’s old bedroom isn’t quite the luxurious sleeping oasis they want it to be. Check out all the Emmy statues on the windowsill -- perhaps those need a proper built-in?

Adrian’s Room

While the nursery seems plenty spacious for a near-toddler, the proximity of it to the other busy rooms in the apartment makes for a lot of tip-toeing.

The Bathroom

Ben and Ginger’s dream bathroom is one of spa quality -- spacious vanity, tranquil design and a deep bathtub. Can they make it happen in their new house in the burbs?

The New Old House

Project time! Ben and Ginger’s first house together is a fixer upper outside of the city in need of some updating, repairs and general love.

Ginger’s Got It

While Ben is admittedly a bit out of his league when it comes to home repair and construction, Ginger grew up with a family of builders and has tiled quite a few floors in her day.

Most of the Time

This is either before or after the cap burst off the bottle and wood glue exploded on the custom cabinet Ginger was working on.

Ben Builds Things

He wasn’t the most confident with some power tools at the beginning of the renovation, but Ben learns quickly and contributes to nearly every project.

Ben Tries Tiling

Reality hits home when Ben and Ginger find out the hard way that installing shower tile isn’t as easy as it seems.

A Little Help

And that’s what contractors are for!

Happy Birthday, Ginger!

In the middle of the finishing touches of the renovation, Ginger’s Good Morning America co-anchors stop by to help and to wish her a happy birthday.

'GMA' Painting Party

The ladies of Good Morning America were quick to pick up brushes and rollers as soon as they arrived and to get to work painting the new walls.

Lara Spencer

Recognize this flipping maven? Flea Market Flip host and GMA anchor Lara Spencer is the perfect coworker to call when you need a hand with paint.

Robin Roberts, Ginger Zee and Amy Robach

Robin Roberts did her best to stay within the lines, but what she lacked in painting skills she made up for in comedic relief.

Ben has a Brush

One of the jobs he took the most seriously throughout the renovation, painting turned out to be Ben’s forte.
