Season 6, Episode 9

First House

Sophia knows what she wants. After graduating from college and landing her first job at age 22, she said "I'm not throwing my money away on rent, I'm buying a house." After plenty of research, and house hunting, Sophia found the perfect starter house. It's a one-bedroom 1950s ranch style house with good-bones, a generous-sized yard and a big garage. With the help of her boyfriend, best friend and parents, Sophia started making the place her own with all new paint and furnishings. Now she's ready to tackle the kitchen. It's a galley style kitchen that adjoins the dining room, so it feels spacious. It just needs an update to make it more functional-and attractive. In this quick fix transformation we install a snap-together floor, replace the sink and faucet and bring in new appliances. The existing countertops are covered with granite.
