Build a 26"-tall wooden planter box that covers the length of the area under the far left window. Paint the box a bright hue that coordinates with the new stucco and door colors. Fill the box with flowering annuals or leafy tropicals such Xanadu philodendron (Philodendron x 'Xanadu'. Then create a planting bed around the lamppost and connect to the driveway. Plant the new area with an evergreen shrub such as variegated pittosporum (Pittosporum tobira 'Variegata').
