Knitting expert Karen Baumer joins Vickie and the knitsters to share her tried-and-true methods for knitting up a charming fair isle sweater. Karen's version will knit up to be just the right size for a cuddly teddy bear. She'll take us step by step through knitting the fair isle section using the continental method to hold the yarns, steeking (which means-- hold your breath-- cutting the knitting!) and then seeming it back together flawlessly. With these great techniques, the sky's the limit! Knit Bit: See a neat cast-on trick so that your first row of cast-on stitches aren't too tight. Simply hold a small needle along side the needle you are using for your project and cast-on yarn over both. Slip the small needle out of the cast-on stitches and your ready to knit.
