Make your backsplash a functional part of your kitchen by turning it into a message center. It's simple just paint the drywall, cover it with Plexiglas then use liquid chalk to write your message.

This simple and inexpensive project is perfect for renters and homeowners alike. Use your message center backsplash to write down recipes and shopping lists, or to let the kids have at it and create artwork for every season. Here's what you'll need to get the job done: 1/8" Plexiglas, Plexiglas scoring knife, drill with 1/4" bit, clear caulking adhesive, drywall square, framing square, brown paper, latex paint, paintbrush, scissors, tape measure.
