Classic Reclaimed — Custom Banquette

Episode DKTN-312

When wife Tami and husband Chris bought their 1914 house, they and their two little kids loved the historic character of the place. There were beautiful built-in hutches, maple floors, hand-carved staircases, leaded glass — and then there was the kitchen. The drop ceiling was falling down, cheesy cabinets were delaminating and on the floor was indoor-outdoor carpeting, stained and frayed. We'll take it all out and start from scratch to create a kitchen that will do the rest of the home proud.

Our homeowners have been hard at work as we continue helping them recapture the beauty of their kitchen in their beautiful historic home. In this third of four episodes we install a custom-built banquette in the breakfast nook. The new vent hood is hooked up and we put in a mix of modern and period lighting.
