Dean and Derek combine a South Carolina couple's love of the outdoors and need for informal living space in a casual treetop-level den. With passions ranging from white water rafting to hiking, the Downing family loves being outdoors. But when they're at home, the family's splintering deck proves more hazardous than relaxing oasis. That's when Dean and Derek show up with a plan in mind: they'll expand the deck and swap out wood for a splinter-free composite material. To set off the deck's ten-foot elevation - and for some treetop viewing - they'll add seating and dining space. But to top it off, they top it off...with a stunning motorized awning that adds shade on sweltering days. A storage bench, cozy furniture and chiminea will finish up the space and help make this a "treetop den" that can't be topped!
