James, a builder and his wife, Kimberly, own a lovely home overlooking the gorgeous countryside outside of Austin. For the most part, the Irwins are happy with their home but lack an informal entertaining space that takes in their breathtaking view. Dean and Derek step in to help create an outdoor "Room with a View and BBQ." To start, Dean and Derek make use of the existing white and cream limestone patio by building a new BBQ unit. They build a two level L-shaped grill area that looks out over the stunning vista. To complement the limestone, they'll add both native Texan fossil rock and luders. Overhead, they go big and bold with a Texas style pergola made from hand-scraped cedar and stained deep brown to offset the lighter stone. To make a grand entrance, Dean and Derek incorporate one-of-a-kind fossils as a platform leading into the patio. With furniture and decorative items added, James and Kimberly will have an outdoor room that would make any Texan feel right at home!
