Anna and Mike-both of whom strive to be as energy conscience as possible-are proud of their small first home. However, they're not so proud of what they call the "mudpit"-their always-muddy patch of backyard. With only one main living room inside, Anna and Mike could really use an extra entertaining space. They ask Dean and Derek to create an outdoor entertainment room with a green twist. To start, Dean and Derek level the "mudpit' and remove the sinking concrete steps. In its place, they create a composite deck landing with room for storage underneath and a paver patio. They surround the area with a fence that combines new wood with some pieces from the old fence. To cap it off, they build a pre-fab grilling unit with a green grill that ensures low emissions. In the end, the Andersons will have an eco-friendly stylish entertaining room that gives them the added space they lack indoors.
