How to Create a Wall Stencil Border

Step 1: Tape the Stencil to the Wall
If, needed, paint a base coat of eggshell latex paint using a 9" x 1" nap lambskin roller.
Tape up the stencil flat against the wall using painter's tape.
Step 2: Paint the Stencil Pattern
Dip a stippling brush in paint and it dab on the cardboard to get rid of the excess paint.
Use the brush to pounce the color on the stencil. Keep the brush perpendicular to the wall. Use a knife to hold the stencil down if needed.
Remove the stencil from the wall. Use a damp cloth to clean the stencil, then repeat the process.
