Getting Started

Tip: One secret to a beautiful lawn is regular or weekly trimming and edging.

For fast results, use string trimmer.

Tip: If lawn is 1/3 acre or less, get trimmer with powerful lithium ion battery and you won’t need electrical cord or gasoline.

Always wear safety glasses, gloves, long sleeves and pants, and sturdy boots.

Position base of trimmer at 5- to 10-degree angle to ground.

Start trimmer above grass so string won’t gouge anything or cut grass too close.

Use primarily tip of string.

Tip: Trim side to side so cuttings will be thrown away from you.

Tip: Dial up power for thicker overgrowth.

Switch to edging mode to edge along driveways, sidewalks, and landscaping.

Tip: Follow along edge of driveway, sidewalk, and landscaping.
