Step 1: Watch an Overview Video

Step 2: Gather Your Materials and Tools

        Materials and Tools:

        rubber mallet
        utility knife
        tape measure
        pencil
        chalk line
        kneepads
        PVC garage floor tiles
        coating (optional)
        paint roller (optional)

        Step 3: Prep the Area

Interlocking, non-skid PVC garage floor tiles come in many colors and textures.

Tiles can easily be laid on top of existing floor. Design a floor pattern using different colors and/or textures.

Tile must be conditioned to space for at least 24 hours prior to installation, and the room temperature must be 65 to 75 degrees F.

        Start by thoroughly cleaning floor.

Mark center points of walls and snap two chalk lines through center of room, dividing room into quadrants.

Step 4: Begin Laying the Tiles

PVC interlocking tiles do not require adhesive.

        Begin at center of floor.

Lay one tile in corner of each quadrant to create central square.

Use rubber mallet to tap interlocks into place.

Step 5: Snap Additional Tiles Into Place

Expand square by snapping additional tiles around perimeter.

At walls, trim partial tiles with a utility knife.

Leave expansion gap around walls of 1/4 inch.

Tip: If floor is exposed to wet conditions, apply special coating.
