        Resurfacing a Garage Floor

        This DIY Basic will provide tips on resurfacing a garage floor.

        Step 1: Watch an Overview Video

        Step 2: Prep the Area

        Begin by removing any loose existing paint from the floor with a scraper and sandpaper.

        Then remove any grease or oil spots with a degreaser. Scrub and rinse the floor thoroughly.

        Step 3: Clean the Floor

        Now, mix the concentrated cleaner included with the kit as instructed and scrub the surface clean.

        Once the surface has been completely cleaned, rinse the entire floor and remove any standing water with a squeegee.

        Allow the surface to dry completely.

        Step 4: Mix and Apply the Concrete Coating

        Mix the concrete coating according to the instructions.

        Now, working in small sections apply the coating with a 1/2-inch nap roller.

        Maintain a wet edge and sprinkle the decorative chips as you go.

        Then allow the floor to dry for 48 hours.
