Remove Screen Door

Remove the screen door from the door frame, and place on a flat work surface.

Mark for Dog Door

Place the dog door in desired position on the screen door, and mark using a pencil or pen.

Cut Screen

Carefully cut away screening inside the dog door frame with a utility blade.

Step 4

Cut for Opening

Prop the screen door up on scrap wood, and use a jigsaw to cut away any necessary boards for the appropriately-sized dog door opening.

Mark Holes

Place the dog door on the screen door, and mark where the screws will go with a pen or pencil.

Pre-Drill Holes

Using the appropriately-sized bit, drill pilot holes into the screen door to accommodate the dog door’s hardware.

Spray Paint Door

To give the dog door a more streamlined look, spray paint it to match the screen door.

Install Dog Door

Once the paint completely dries, install the dog door in the screen door with the provided hardware. Trim off excess plastic screws with a utility knife.

Re-Install Screen Door

Re-install the screen door.
