Building an Outdoor Kitchen
For spending time outdoors with your family or to entertain friends, there are few better options than an outdoor kitchen. In these projects, we take you step-by-step through construction of an outdoor kitchen.
The space for this outdoor kitchen is an existing 30' x 30' patio. Among the most important factors for an outdoor kitchen, as with an indoor kitchen, is access for the utilities. For this project, we tied in to the home's existing water and drainage system. We also made provisions for gas and electrical wiring. A designer determined the best placement for the access to utilities, as well as the overall aesthetic design. For aesthetic appeal and visual consistency with the rest of the home, Tennessee bluestone and brick were selected as the main construction materials that would be visible. The idea is to achieve a flow and a look that appears as if the outdoor kitchen is simply an extension of the house.
