Step 1

Hang a Clothesline

Use rope or heavy-duty string to make a clothesline inside your home. You may want to put it in the kitchen because you will be using the freezer. Do not hang the line outside -- wind and weather can further damage the items.

Step 2

Place Papers/Photos in Freezer Bag

Place wet papers and photos into a freezer bag as quickly as possible. If multiple pages are stuck together, do not try to peel them apart. Keep the stack of papers as is. Place the bag into the freezer and keep them there for approximately one hour.

Remove Papers From Freezer and Hang

Let the frozen bag stand on the countertop. If you have a stack of papers that were stuck together, gently peel each page apart. Use clothespins to air dry each page or photo.
