It’s okay to have giant pictures of complete strangers on your gallery wall, as long as they are in costume. We created a fun gallery wall by mixing some kitsch and vintage Halloween decor with family photo collages and some thrift-store portraits dressed in masks.

Step 1

Look For a Subject

Look for portraits at your local thrift store. Try to find portraits that are facing forward, it will make mask placement easier.

Roughly measure the width of the faces on the portraits and cut felt masks to size. This may take a bit of trial and error to get the size and eye holes just right.

Step 2

Cut and Embellish

Give your masks cat eyes, rhinestones, stripes or polka dots. Cut your design from another sheet of craft felt and attach with craft glue. Allow to dry completely.
