8 Man Caves From Rate My Space

Eight Rate My Space fans create customized spaces for the man of the house that go way beyond just cool. They're tributes to passions as diverse as sci-fi and Coca-Cola.

Rustic and Refined

The term "cave" truly doesn't do justice to this expansive and luxurious space. The large, open-concept room features a sunken screening area with eight leather theater-style seats, a billiard table and a well-appointed bar with adjacent wine cellar. Warm, earthy colors and rustic touches like exposed beams and a richly stained beadboard ceiling give the room a decidedly masculine feel.(Design by Rate My Space contributor metroartist)

Rock-Star Hangout

Created by a real-life guitar hero, this rock-centric loft is the perfect space to display the best of his passions: music and DIY decor. The guitar floor lamp is his patented design, created by disassembling a working guitar to insert the electrical components; a mic stand serves as the base. The fins and tail end of a classic car create an eye-catching sofa and the white side chair is actually made from a rolling gear box that was customized with an added upholstered back, arms and seat. Fit for a Grill King

This posh outdoor kitchen takes cooking out to a whole new level. The top-of-the-line grill and separate smoker offer multiple options for preparing food. Built-in drawers and cabinets provide handy storage and a stone sink with faucet minimizes necessary trips indoors. Concrete countertops, a mosaic tile backsplash and low-voltage pendant lights bring all the luxuries of an indoor kitchen outside. (Design by Rate My Space contributor TrishDanby)

Far-Out Man Cave

This sci-fi fan's dream room features corrugated metal walls, assorted movie props and a fun, futuristic feel. In the homeowner's words, this room, which has a great view of nearby space shuttle launches, is "a great place to display my space junk. (Design by Rate My Space contributor fritojam)

Refreshingly Different Man Cave

This homeowner had a problem: Where should he display his massive Coca-Cola collection? He decided to enclose an unused screened-in porch and fill it with memorabilia to create this ode to all things sweet and fizzy. From the green glass-block wall, reminiscent of the original green bottles, to the vintage soda fountain and custom-made logo carpet, this room is such a striking tribute that photos of it are on permanent display at the World of Coca-Cola in Atlanta. B-Ball Fanatic's Haven

This memorabilia-filled man cave, nicknamed "the Hawk's Nest," is so packed with signed, framed jerseys and autographed shoes, helmets and basketballs that the collection has spilled from the game room into the stairwell leading up to it. (Design by Rate My Space contributor seliason)

Staytainment Garage

Park your car in the garage? That's crazy talk! This DIYer converted his garage to a nine-seat home theater with a 106-inch movie screen and a modern, masculine take on vintage Hollywood style. (Design by Rate My Space contributor embry28)

Pigskin Paradise

A standard-size bedroom (12' x 13') was transformed into a football fanatic's haven. His collection has been acquired over a lifetime: The pennants and curtains are from childhood while the helmets are garage-sale finds, picked up for around $5 each. The orange folding chairs are souvenirs from the now-demolished Mile High Stadium in Denver, Colo., which the homeowner reports were "slightly more expensive."
