DIY Paper Dolls

This is a great rainy-day or any-day project for the kids. Create a paper doll kit: Store the materials in a box or basket so they'll be ready anytime the kids want to play. To create the kit, print out a bunch of doll templates, cut out the fabric clothing and gather together buttons, ribbons and glue sticks.

Print Templates and Cut

Print the paper doll templates (click here to download the girl) and (click here to download the boy), and clothes templates (click here to download shirts, pants, etc.)

Using the provided printable files and white card stock, print as many paper doll images as you would like. In addition, you will want to print a sheet of the printable pattern page. These patterns can then be cut out and used over and over. First, choose paper or fabric that you would like to use for the doll's outfit. Then, trace the pattern pieces onto the fabric or paper that has been chosen. You can also make up your own pattern and make something even more creative. Once the patterns have been traced, carefully cut out each part of the doll's outfit.

Dress the Dolls

Once the clothing pieces are cut, use a glue stick to secure the clothing in place. Now is the really fun part: Color your doll and add ribbons, buttons, sequins or anything else you desire. Everything can be secured using a glue stick.
