Instead of making salt dough ornaments this year, check out this recipe for sweet-smelling DIY cinnamon ornaments.
Preheat your oven to 200 degrees. In a bowl, mix 1 cup of cinnamon and 1/2 cup of applesauce. Stir well.
Stir in 1/3 cup of craft glue.
Use your hands to thoroughly mix in the glue and then knead the dough into a ball.
Place your ball of dough on parchment paper and roll it flat until it is about 1/2-inch thick.
Create ornaments with cookie cutters and place on a baking sheet.
Use a toothpick to make a hole at the top of your ornament so that you can hang it from a ribbon or hook when it's done.
Bake at 200 degrees for two hours.
Let them completely cool before decorating. Simly hang them with baker's twine for a rustic look.
