Step 1

Create the Base

Cover the seed pot entirely with the air-dry clay. 

Step 2

Mold Your Monster's Face

Use your hands or sculpting tools to build up the facial features of your monster. When needed, use a bit of water to help smooth edges and cracks.

Step 3

Paint and Finish

When the clay has dried completely, usually overnight, you can paint the pots. Apply a coat of clear polyurethane to protect your creation and give it a little extra shine.

Step 4

Add Plants

Choose succulents for your monster pots. Though the clay is hard and can withstand most things, it was not fired in a kiln, so too much water can ruin your pot. So, choose a plant that does not need much moisture.

Keep your plant inside on a sunny shelf, rain, like over watering can damage your new pot.
