How to Use a Yard Trencher

A yard trencher can dig out a trench for conduit or water pipes in the yard. It makes a thin trench in the yard without disturbing the surface. It's also much quicker than doing it by hand.

Highlights:

Step 1: Set the Controls

Make sure the tool is in the park position. Turn on the main power switch.

Turn on the fuel switch. Set the choke, and pull the cord.

Step 2: Hold the Controls

The machine has operator present controls. It will not work unless you are holding the control on the handle. The red lever on the side of the machine controls the hydraulic pump. Use the blue lever to lock or unlock the blade. When digging, put the blue lever in the locked position. When moving the machine, put the blue lever in the unlocked position.

Step 3: Operate the Machine

The yellow lever starts spinning the blade. The green lever moves the blade down to the ground to dig. A small red lever on the control panel moves the entire machine backward and forward.
