The tip you choose depends on the size of the lines you want to draw. Thin tips are good for drawing lines whereas thicker tips are better for shading.
Insert a tip attachment into the woodburning tool and allow it to heat up according to the manufacturer's instructions.
To create a design, use the woodburning pen as you would an ink pen but moving slowly (Image 1). Hold it down on the work piece for a few seconds to give the wood time to burn.
To make straight lines, use a metal ruler as a straightedge (Image 2).
